
Empowering Futures Fund Application
SCHOLARSHIP PURPOSE
This document outlines the criteria and eligibility guidelines for the Empowering Futures Fund scholarship, an initiative of the Female Forward Alliance (FFA).
The purpose of this scholarship is to empower local families facing adversity by providing their children with access to enriching extracurricular activities that foster holistic development, confidence, and critical life skills.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The applicant must be the parent or legal guardian of the child for whom the scholarship is being requested.
The applicant and child must reside in the local community served by the Female Forward Alliance (Monmouth and Ocean County NJ).
The applicant must demonstrate financial need and be facing a situation of adversity, as described in the application.
The scholarship must be for a child under the age of 18.
The requested funds must be for a specific extracurricular activity (e.g., sports, music, arts, academic programs).
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants must complete the official Empowering Futures Fund Scholarship Application form in its entirety.
All requested information must be provided, including specific details about the child's desired activity, its duration, and its cost.
Applicants must agree to the terms outlined in the "Authorization and Release" section of the application.
The Scholarship Committee may contact applicants directly if clarification or additional information is needed.

SCHOLARSHIP CONSIDERATION FACTORS
The Scholarship Committee will holistically review applications, considering the following factors to make its decisions:
Impact on the Child
The alignment of the requested activity with the child's interests and its potential to foster their personal growth, skills, confidence, and overall well-being.
Demonstrated Need
The level of financial need and the nature of the adversity the family is facing.
Support for the Family
The potential for the scholarship to positively impact the entire family unit by alleviating financial stress and providing a supportive opportunity for the child.
Clarity and Completeness
The clarity and thoughtfulness of the application responses.

SCHOLARSHIP REVIEW PROCESS
Each application will be evaluated based on the Consideration Factors listed in Section 4. A scoring rubric will be used by the committee to ensure consistent and fair evaluation.
Evaluations will be conducted by members of the Scholarship Committee, who will review applications independently before meeting to discuss them as a group.
The number of review rounds will be determined by the Scholarship Committee based on the volume of applications received.
The number and value of scholarships awarded in each cycle will be determined by the availability of funds in the Empowering Futures Fund.
